When it is vital that a mission must not fail, a relatively unknown group of warriors is selected to work directly under the National Command Authority. Operators in Tier 1 are called Tier 1s. The number of active soldiers exceeds 2 million. About 50 thousand of those are directly under the Special Operations Command. Special Operation Forces of all levels cannot perform the tasks of a Tier 1 Operator.
Although classified, their exact number hovers around the low hundreds. It is a living, breathing, precision weapon. Violence is their expertise.
