This HD remastering of the classic that improves on the 2002 “REmake” delivers the intense horror fans have experienced since the original Resident Evil was released in 1996. Taking place in the now infamous Raccoon City, players take on the role of either S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics and Rescue Service) team member Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine who have been sent to find the missing Bravo team. In the midst of an attack from a ferocious pack of mutant dogs, the team takes shelter in the Mansion. Can they ever make it out alive? As players search out the horrors that await them in the dark, enclosed spaces, they must be brave. The limited ammo and survival items available in this game will force players to stay alert to avoid the various traps and puzzles along the way.
In addition to the HD-optimized resolutions and textures, the character and environment graphics have been enhanced so that more detail has been added to the game. A strong gaming atmosphere is enhanced by the 5.1 surround sound support for the tense sound effects and the stunning graphics. It is possible to play in 4:3 or widescreen, which scrolls with the action. There are two control schemes: the original scheme retains the classic controls, or an alternate scheme employs an analogue stick to guide the character.
