Silent Hill: Homecoming is the sixth installment in the Silent Hill survival horror video game series. It was developed by Double Helix Games. Originally called Silent Hill V, the game was presented by Konami as part of their E3 press conference on July 11, 2007. The story revolves around Alex Shepherd, returning home after a war to find Shepherd’s Glen in ruins and his younger brother missing. While searching for his younger brother, he learns more about the Order, as well as the town’s history and his own past.
The game was released on September 30, 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and on November 6, 2008 for the Microsoft Windows operating system exclusively through Steam. On February 27, 2009, all versions of the software were released simultaneously in Europe, including a retail version for Microsoft Windows. The Japanese version of the game was canceled.
